6/29-30/12 2012 New York Faerie Festival

Once again, the Faeries have led me to the hamlet of Ouaquaga, NY
to play at and help with the New York Faerie Festival. I went up
several days early, in fact.

This year's Faire, I dubbed the "Faerie Exercise Program". I lost
several pounds that week with all the walking, climbing, lifting and
such that I did. It was great! That's not what my body would be
saying to me at the end of the day, but it's true!

I helped build a beautiful stage, that I then did sound for
(reprising my role from last year) with some new and upgraded
equipment and lessons learned, it was easier and sounded better.

For my own performances, since they were shorter than before, I
opted for all of my best and my favourite numbers.

I made several new friends, upgraded some acquainatances to better
friends, and reconnected with folks from far away. I played some fine
music, got to hear a bunch more, and all in all, had a wonderful time
losing a week in Faerie.

An unexpected treat was being dragged up on stage at the very end
to join in with an impromptu finale performance of a song just
written for the festival. My friends Jennifer Cutting, Steven Wynick,
and Ariana made me feel as if I was one of the "cool kids", and for
an awkward former(?) nerd like me, that was the happy ending of a
fairie tale, for sure!

Thanks to Billy for his big idea and Glenn for the kind use of his
Land to make it happen. Thanks to everyone who helped me do my job,
and thanks to everyone who came to have fun there.
